These terms and conditions govern both general public and Member use of the Plymouth Nautical Degree Association (“PYNDA”) website. By either using this website as a non-member or a member you are confirming your acceptance of these Terms & Conditions where applicable. PYNDA may amend these terms from time to time.

Any personal information you provide on this website is controlled by PYNDA.
Your Personal Information
When applying for membership you are consenting to the processing of your information by PYNDA in accordance with this data policy.
Such information you pass to PYNDA via the Internet is passed to us entirely at your own risk. PYNDA cannot guarantee the security of the Internet link to the PYNDA website.
You may also provide personal information to use when you contact us by e-mail, telephone or letter. Whenever you provide this personal information, we shall treat that information in accordance with this policy. Our services are designed to give you the information you have requested. PYNDA will, at all times, act in accordance with current legislation and aim to meet current internet best practice.
Sharing of your personal information
When applying for membership you are consenting to the processing of your information by PYNDA in accordance with these terms and conditions and to the addition of your entered personal application details to our ‘Membership Database’.
PYNDA members can search for other PYNDA members by using the following enquiry fields;
- Family name
- First name
- Organization
- Specialism
- Year of attendance at Plymouth
However, not all of your application details entered into our Membership Database can be viewed by other paid up PYNDA members when using the membership search facility.
By applying for membership you are consenting to the following fields of information (if available) from your application details and our database being shared and viewed by other paid up PYNDA members through the use of the membership search facility;
- Name
- Paid member
- Membership type
- Member since
- Degree title
- Degree years
- Specialism
- Job title
- Company name
- Work Address
- Work telephone
- Work fax
- Work e-mail
- Home e-mail
If you do not want any of the above details to be shared with other paid up PYNDA members using the membership search facility, please contact PYNDA direct and we will process your application individually.
Code of conduct for PYNDA members
As a paid up member you agree by accepting these terms and conditions not to solicit unwanted contact from other PYNDA members through inappropriate use or abuse of the membership search facility.
The PYNDA membership search facility is available in order to allow the membership to maintain contact with friends and colleagues or to search for other PYNDA members in related specialisms or otherwise. Any complaints received by the PYNDA Committee relating to inappropriate use of the membership search facility will be followed up with an investigation. Subsequent to the investigation and at the absolute discretion of the Committee, the Committee may, without giving their detailed reasoning, withdraw membership of anyone who is believed to have breached this code of conduct.
Use and storage of your personal information
When you supply any personal information to PYNDA we have legal obligations in the way we deal with that information. We must collect the information fairly. That is, we must explain how we will use it. This Data Policy explains how we will use your personal information.
We may use personal information provided by you or gathered by PYNDA for the following purposes:
