Doctorates

Chia-Hsun Chang was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy in recognition of a programme of work entitled “Container Shipping Risk Management: A Case Study of Taiwan’s Container Shipping Industry.”

Recent Honorary Doctorates have been awarded to the following individuals with marine and maritime interests:

HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco was awarded and Honorary Doctorate in Marine Science for his commitment to the marine environment. Through his foundation, Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, dedicated to protecting the environment some researchers in the Marine Institute have bee funded.

In July Ernesto Bertarelli an international entrepreneur, was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Marine Science from Plymouth University recognising his role in the development of the America’s Cup, his passion for the marine environment and his business and philanthropic interests in the areas of life sciences and education.
